Weather
Of paramount interest to British visitors is the weather! The camping is some 850m in the Massif Central mountains of France. As such the weather can be variable, being quite cool at night and first thing in the morning. As with all mountainous regions, rain can be very local and sometimes persistent. You are advised to be prepared for the possibility of some chilly nights and perhaps some obstinate inclement spells.
When venturing into the nearby peaks, normal precautions for mountain walking apply. Do not forget your map and compass, warm jumpers, long trousers and windproof outer garments for the weather here can turn just as nasty as at the top of Snowdon!
A good spell of high pressure, however, will mean plenty of sun with temperatures rising as high as 35C in the day whilst remaining at 25C on the terrace after sun down. With clear skies and no light pollution, it is possible to watch the moon and stars, also, the satellites, International Space Station and meteor showers, the latter being particularly common in early August.
